Godrej Nature’s Basket, a gourmet grocery shopping brand, wished to enter the online space with an ecommerce portal. The brand wished to reinforce its offline positioning as a ‘World Food Expert’ and stand out among the competition in the digital space.
The one thing most online transactions miss out on is the sense of tangibility that comes with being in a physical store. We needed to enable more than easy shopping - an entire experience needed to be crafted to perfection – and the only way to do this was by getting into the mind of the customer.
We began by identifying the typical in-store shopping scenarios experienced at Godrej Nature’s Basket. Through in-depth research and competitive benchmarking, we delved into the key factors that influence customer perception and ultimately, the buying decision.
Our research helped us to identify and segregate customer categories such as Regular Shoppers, Exploratory Shoppers, First-timers, Gift Shoppers, and so on. In the process, we were able to offer unique features that catered to each one of these customer segments.
To further assist the customer, we added an assortment of innovative features and tools for planning parties, shopping for ingredients for a specific dish, buying gifts for friends, and more!
Our meticulous research into customer behavior was a great enabler in the success of this project. Through the thoughtfully designed e-store, Godrej Nature’s Basket was rewarded with a substantial increase in revenue. The visitor numbers spiked, as did the average time spent on the site!
By getting into the minds of the customers, the e-commerce portal was able to customize the entire experience, and enrich it to suit the specific needs of the customers.
